No. Satan doesn’t have access to heaven today as the Adamic authority he operated with to gain access has been supplanted by a greater authority — the authority of the Second and Last Adam, Jesus Christ.
If Christ is the Second and Last Adam (which He is), then His authority supersedes the authority of the first Adam. This is the same authority He has given to us in His name.
The new creation is not patterned after Adam but after Christ Himself, making the believer superior to the devil. Glory to God!

The Second and Last Adam
The apostle Paul explains this truth clearly:
1 Corinthians 15:45-49
“45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The first Adam was the head of the old creation. Through him came sin, death, and the loss of dominion.
But Jesus Christ is the Last Adam, meaning there will never be another head of humanity after Him. He represents a completely new order of existence — the new creation.
The authority of Christ is therefore greater, permanent, and eternal. When we are born again, we are not merely forgiven sinners; we are participants in this new creation order.
Because we are in Christ, the devil has no authority over us.

The devil has no more claim on anything

The Fall of Man
In Genesis 3, Adam disobeyed God and listened to the serpent.
By submitting to the serpent’s word rather than God’s Word, Adam yielded his authority.
Authority follows obedience. When Adam obeyed Satan, he effectively handed over the authority God gave him.
This is why scripture later calls Satan:
- “the god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4)
- “the prince of this world” (John 12:31)
These titles do not mean Satan owns the earth, but that he gained influence through Adam’s disobedience.
The Consequences of Adam’s Fall
Through Adam’s sin several things happened:
1. Sin Entered Humanity
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed on all men, for that all have sinned:
Sin became the nature of mankind.
2. Death Entered the World
Spiritual death separated humanity from God.
3. Humanity Lost Its Dominion
The authority Adam had over the earth was corrupted and misused.
This is why the world system became dominated by darkness.
4. Satan Became the Accuser
Because humanity had fallen into sin, Satan could accuse mankind before God.
The devil used the guilt of sin as legal ground to accuse humanity.
But this situation was temporary because God had already planned redemption.
How Christ Redeemed What Was Lost
Jesus Christ did not merely forgive sin — He restored what Adam lost.
Christ Came as the Second Adam
Where Adam failed, Christ succeeded.
Romans 5:19
“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
Adam disobeyed and brought condemnation.
Christ obeyed perfectly and brought righteousness.
Christ Defeated Satan
During His earthly ministry, Jesus confronted and defeated Satan repeatedly.
But the ultimate victory occurred at the cross.

Through His death and resurrection, Christ:
- disarmed demonic powers
- broke the authority of Satan
- redeemed humanity from bondage
Christ Recovered Dominion
Jesus declared after His resurrection:

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
The authority Adam lost was recovered by Christ.
But Jesus did not keep that authority to Himself alone.
He delegated it to believers.
The Authority of the Believer in Christ
Because we are united with Christ, His victory becomes our victory.
Authority in the Name of Jesus
Jesus gave believers authority to act in His name.
Luke 10:19
19 Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
The believer therefore operates from a position above the devil, not beneath him.
Seated With Christ
The believer’s spiritual position is also described clearly:
Ephesians 2:6
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Spiritually, we are seated with Christ far above principalities and powers.
This means the devil does not have authority over the believer.
The Devil’s Strategy Today
Since Satan no longer has legitimate authority over the believer, he operates primarily through:
- deception
- accusation
- condemnation
- ignorance of spiritual identity

Revelation 12:10-11
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brothers is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives to the death.
The throne of God is in your heart (John 14:23) for the Holy Spirit has made His residents in the hearts of the saints. Today the devil accuses us to ourselves, and when we give in to his accusations due to a lack of knowledge of who we are in Christ and that He dwells in us and has pleasure in us, then we become ineffective. That’s how the enemy does it.
Yes, the devil attempts to accuse believers within their conscience, trying to make them feel condemned and unworthy.
But when believers understand their identity in Christ, these accusations lose their power.
Guarding the Conscience With the Word
The conscience must be trained and governed by the Word of God.
A conscience dominated by guilt and condemnation weakens faith.
But a conscience cleansed by the Word strengthens the believer.
Hebrews 10:22
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
1 Timothy 1:5
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1 Timothy 1:19
19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Acts 24:16
“I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.”
When our conscience is aligned with the Word, the enemy’s accusations lose their effect.
Did Satan Ever Appear Before God in Heaven? (Job 1 & 2 Explained)
One of the passages often used to argue that Satan still has access to heaven is found in the book of Job. A careful look at the text, however, shows that the events recorded there occurred under a completely different covenantal order, long before the redemptive work of Christ.
The Scene in Job 1
The Bible records a gathering in heaven where spiritual beings presented themselves before God.
Job 1:6
“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.”
Here we see several important things:
- The “sons of God” are angelic beings.
In the Old Testament this phrase is commonly used to refer to angels (see also Job 38:7). - Satan appeared among them.
At that time Satan had not yet been fully stripped of his access within the heavenly court. - This took place before Christ’s redemptive work.

- remind them of past sins
- create doubt about their identity in Christ
But the believer must stand on the truth of the gospel.
Romans 8:33–34
“Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died…”
If God has justified us, then no accusation can stand.
The believer’s response to Satan’s accusations is simple:
stand on the finished work of Christ and the cleansing power of His blood.

Satan does not have legitimate access to heaven today as he once did under the old order.
His authority was tied to the fall of Adam. But that authority has been overthrown by the victory of Jesus Christ.
Through Christ:
- sin has been defeated
- Satan has been disarmed
- dominion has been restored
- believers now have authority in His name
The believer must therefore live in the awareness of this truth.
Do not allow the enemy to manipulate your conscience through accusation or condemnation.
Stand firm in the finished work of Christ, knowing that you are a new creation in Him and that the authority of the Last Adam is now working in you.
